Subject: Good and Evil

Author: Anomally

Basis: Experiment Breakdown: The higher energies(you decide their names to how ever you
believe) decide to run an experiment. Placing all that is good in one lifeform(Jim)...As well as placing all that is concidered evil in another lifeform(Blair)...releasing these two upon the earth letting them have child hooods and growth. Knowing that these two energies humans must soon walk a path together. Can the two humans; knowing who they are in the spectrum of things, get along enough to become Guardian and Guide?? hmmmmmm who knows...

Tell me what you think....

One came from the sky his body pure light energy; his aura warm as the summer sun. The other sauntered up his form as well glowing but in a cold way. The two met and shook hands; the realm they inhabited was filled with colors and darkness. Sometimes the stars glimmered sometimes not, it was hard to say where exactly they where but that is not important. They met for a reason these two; to discuss and idea they both had, an experiment of sorts.

"Is it ready?" The warm one said.

The other nodded, and produced a blue flame in his hand that took shape into a dark star that floated in his hand, "And yours?" he inquired.

The warm one nodded to and in his open palm produced a silver flame that took the shape of a white star. "Indeed." He said.

The mutual understanding between them was for observation only; no intervention. To release these starseeds on to the earth and to watch them as they grew into two members of the human race. The two stars; one full of pure light and good the other dark and full of evil, would meet later in life and be destined to walk a path side by side. I was elected as scribe of this experiment to record the data and findings of what they saw in the humans as they grew. Here is the tale as written taking place just before the two where to meet.

Who am I you ask? Who tells you this tale that could be real, or could be fantasy? I am just a watcher, a information collector, or a neutral entity. Just know I am just a watcher; one who defies the universe to transmit this take to you. Now close your eyes and picture a city; Cascade, Washington state.

In a dim warehouse, among various large tropical plants. The atmosphere humid, as the sound of thunder and soft drums and wooden flutes dances on the moist air. In a torch lit clearing stands three men, two of them tall and solidly built wearing dark suits. Desipite the humidity niether big men sweat nor complain about the heat. The third man slightly shorter and balding wipes his brow nervously for what seems the tenth time.

"Well, when do I get to see him?!" The man asked of his two larger escorts. "That is if he does exsist!" The man finished with a guffaw trying to mask his nervousness.

The two muscular men stayed silent looking straight ahead. Just as the music went silent and the soft strains of diggery-doo's replaced the silence; the shorter man again wiped his sweat beaded brow.

"What's with the temperature and the plants guys?! It's like a friggan' jungle in here! The man stated getting more aggitated with the lack of reponse he was getting. "Come on fellas TALK to me!" He stated louder.

Just then a mechanical whirring sounded then stopped; soon a man sauntered into the clearing. The man was dressed in a pair of loose fitting blue jeans, a simple linen shirt, and a colorful vest. As he moved closer to the three men; his long curly hair bounced slightly with every movement. He then stepped back and plucked two leaves from a near by branch; he opened his mouth and placed the leaves on his tounge and then closed his mouth. He looked at the three men; his bright blue eyes seeming to dance in the torch light.

"Evening Mike, Vachon" The curly haired man finally said in a soft even voice.

The two big men nodded thier heads, "Evening Professor."

The strange yet polite greetings brought on chuckles from the balding man. "Professor??? Where's Ginger, and Mary-Anne?"

"I am to guess by his rudness and lack of respect that this is tonights special pupil." The Professor stated calmly looking at Mike and Vachon. He then cast a glance at the chuckling man that silenced him quick. "This is your judgement; your trial so to speak Mr. Bernard, Mister Frank Bernard."

Frank snorted and looked at the other man with a frown, "Trial?! Trial for what?!

The professor talked confidently; his crystal blue eyes sparkling like morning dew, "Because you dared to lie to me. You with out research dared to label me a patsy so to speak, a less then intelligent person. One who could not see you taking what was not yours!"

"What are you talkin' about?!" Frank asked his nervousness being replaced by fear.

The professor nodded and started to circle the three, "I thought you would play like this. I knew you would as a matter of fact; see Mr. Barnard I know more about you than you do, and I knew your were going to play dumb. You know in numerous tribal cultures the penalty for deception is very strict. Stealing is quite leniant in comparrison a loss of a hand, eye, or whatever. You know whack! and it is gone that is that. But for lieing death is the penalty."

"Well professor, or who ever you think you are. I ain't no liar, and I ain't afraid of you little hippie man! So thanks for the lesson but I ain't got time for jokes!" Frank stated acting tough.

Frank stepped away looking for an exit between the thick foliage of the jungle around him. He wondered how he was found out; he considred in his panicky mind who might have ratted him out.

Mike and Vachon started to move forward in an attempt to stop Frank; but the Professor raised his hand stopping the two.

Just as Frank spotted the exit he felt a sharp sting at the back of his neck. He placed his hand on the spot and felt moistness and a needle like dart protruding out of his flesh. He pulled the dart out and looked at the dark feathered and needled object, as he whipped around. Frank watched as the Professor lowered a cylindrical object from his lips.

"WHY YOU LITTLE B...." Was all Frank was able to shout before he found himself falling to the floor.

He moved his eyes and saw the Professor, Mike, and Vachon comming up to him. Mike kneeled down sat Frank up and placed his hand around his chest. Vachon grabbed Franks ankles; the two men lifted Frank up.

"Be careful, he can feel everything still. You just have lost your motile functions. It's a serum mix; various plant extracts used to mild the affects of a poison dart frog's venom." The Professor stated as he lifted Frank's head so he could look in the mans eyes. "Judgement as passed. Death but not before a bit of torture; lets see how far I can stretch your pain limits before the serum wears off so that you can scream."

Frank's eyes darted around so he would not have to look into the clear blue eyes of the Professor's. He called out mentally to anyone for help as he was carried off into the darker parts of the warehouse jungle.

~~~~~~Few hours later~~~~~
Blair unlocked the loft door, entered, and closed the door as quietly as he could. He placed his keys in the basket by the door, and pulled off his backpack and put it on the floor as the base of the coat rack. He peeled off his multi-colored vest and threw it into his room; just as he turned Jim exited the bathroom pulling a shirt over his head.
"How was the lecture chief." Jim asked.
Blair nodded, "UM very enlightening; learned some great biological methods tonight along with some chemistry."
"In other words you were bored right?" Jim asked clipping his badge and holster onto his belt. "Don't get too comfy, we got a call screams heard down by the docks.
Blair nodded and went into his room and stripped off his linen shirt and jeans. He came back out wearing black jeans and a green sweater. "When was it called in?"
"A few hours ago but most of the cops and detectives are just hearing about it now." Jim stated as he headed to the door.
Blair exhaled noisily, "Lemme guess; still breaking in the new computer system to the old dispatchers right?"
"You got it chief. Now lets go." Jim said as he tossed Blair's coat at him.
Blair caught the garmet and followed Jim out the door and off into the night.
