Okay, here's another sorta songfic. Hey I'm sorta on a roll here. LOL. I did a little modification on Chicago's If She Would Have Been Faithful. Enjoy. I know I enjoy writing them.
The words between the ( )'s are being written by the character.
Faithful
By Micandra
(I was thinkin' about her
Visiting the past
Reconstructing details with old photographs
I was studying the faces
With an objective point of view
Suddenly remembering doesn't haunt me)
Heyes gazed at the creased photograph he had taken of him and Annabelle. Beautiful, sweet, lying, cheating Annabelle. If all had gone right, they would probably been married with a parcel of kids by now.
(At the time you couldn't tell me
That one day I'd be glad
Something that I thought was love
was misinterpreted
She had another lover
she emphatically denied
They where doin' me a favor
A blessing in disguise)
Heyes stopped writing to gaze fondly at his sleeping companion snuggled under the covers of the large bed. As usual, the mound was right smack dab in the middle of the bed. Heyes smiled to himself and went back to writing.
(If she would have been faithful
If she would have been true
Then I would have been cheated
I would never know real love
I would have missed out on you
I watch you sleepin'
your body touchin' me
There's no doubt about it
this is where I want to be
You know it's so ironic
I had to lose to win
I want to thank her
It's a paradox
Full of contradictions
How I got from there to here
it defies a logical explanation>
A groan from the mound of covers on the bed snapped Heyes out of his thoughts. "Heyes, come back to bed. I'm cold." Heyes closed the journal and blow out the lamp. As he crossed to the bed, he made a mental note to write Annabelle a thank you note.
The end
